Women's Wing of our Sabha celebrated Pongal on Saturday,
14th January, 2012 at Jasubhai Convention Hall.
The programme started at 4 pm. Santhosh Rajan, Convenor,
gave the welcome address. Bhavani Srinivasan, Suganda
Arthreya and Bharathi Nagaraj sang Navagraha kritis.
They were accompanied by Smriti on violin and Sriram Rajan on mridangam. This was followed by a film show for fifty minutes on the Navagraha temples situated in Tamil Nadu.
Sri R. Balasubramaniyan, Chief General Manager, MTNL, spoke
about the benefits of visiting these temples. Another
distinguished person in the audience was Mrs. Sridevi Goel,
Additional Director General of Police, SRPF, Maharashtra.
She also spoke a few words of support. She was honoured by
the Convener and Sri R. Balasubramaniyan was given a small
memento by our Honorary Secretary, Shri Amarnath Sury.
All the members who attended the function were given a
packet of sweets and sugarcane juice. The function had
good attendance.
