The Sabha celebrated 100 years of Jana Gana Mana !
The Sabha gave every one in the audience a flag, which they displayed with dignity, as per the Flag Code and drew inspiration
from the same. This was followed by a grand presentation, AZADI 60 by Ashok Hande's Chaurang, featuring 150 artists portraying 350
characters It was on this day in 1911 that the anthem was sung at
the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress. It was formally
adopted by the Constituent Assembly as India's National Anthem on
January 24, 1950.

This is also the 150th year of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, who
penned the National Anthem.

100 selected students of Sri Shanmukhananda Bharatiya Sangeetha
Vidyalaya rendered the full five stanzas of the Anthem.
Only the first stanza has been adopted by the country as the
National Anthem.
